So this is an early piece of fiction that was published back in 2008 in the Assassin’s Mashup Project. I was either 18 or 19 when this was published so this is old old. It’s a short sci-fi piece based off a poem by Ash Lomen. You can’t really find this anywhere in print or on the web unless you downloaded it back in the day. I hope you enjoy.
I saw her once, long ago. In those days, I was so much younger, filled with the urgent need to throw myself into the middle of anything and everything that sounded remotely dangerous. Oh her name? Oh yes her name, I seem to be getting ahead of myself, her name was Ana.
You could never forget those azure eyes; they blazed brilliantly, like one great big fire that could never be extinguished. No need for proof, I’m evidence of that.
You know, every now and then I dream about her. She lets me hold her genocide-thin body in my arms. Then she allows me the pleasure of smelling the sweet aroma of past lovers on her skin. Next, she bends down low and kisses me. Her breath is hot and musty. She grins widely before she shoves her black katana deep into my chest. It pierces my heart, where I feel no pain and the only thing I bleed is love. Her parting gift before death.
