Get Down with the Sickness
Art by Olivia Pedigo
A whole lot is going on astrologically. I mean we just had a full moon and not to mention the powerful eclipse going on today. Oh and then there’s Mars in Scorpio. We can’t forget about Pluto going direct and leaving retrograde. This is the first time I ever looked up Pluto retrograde and damn does it make sense. I’ve been doing a lot of shadow work, letting go of limiting beliefs, going deep within, and getting a clearer view of what I truly want from life.
I’m a little sick but I have my tonics on deck and I’ll be bouncing back like no other. I taking a break from the Saw movies and I’ve been going with the flow and surrendering to the universe. A lot of internal change and a bombardment of ideas have been coming through the cut.
If you haven’t heard, the plug on Litreactor has been pulled. Super sad news since this was a treasure trove of resources for writers new and old. You can read why this happened here. I took John Skipp’s writing workshop there and I always wanted to be featured on the website. Last year this long-standing goal of mine came to fruition when Gabriel Hart interviewed me about Black Gypsies. I’ll be taking screenshots for my own records since this will be turning to digital dust soon enough. RIP to one of the best sites out.
I took a break from Project Bunny Bloodbath and I’ve been focused on Motorpapi Chronicles Book 2. The strange thing is I thought the prose in Project Bunny Bloodbath wasn’t that good, but when I reread it a couple nights ago, I was pleasantly surprised. The prose is good and the story is pretty fun and wild so far. It’s funny how the brain can trick us into believing something isn’t true or something isn’t what we see on the page.

Chicago’s very own Valee has a magic hat full of flows-both magical and ethereal. You’d be surprised the number of big rappers that has jacked his style. The wavy production by Harry Fraud is on point and the laundry mat is the perfect place to shoot this song.
Sexyy Red knows where she flourishes and that’s in the ratchet space. Men love her so why not appeal to the dreadheads and give them an anthem they could shake their dreads to? It’s brilliant when you think about it and it doesn’t hurt that this song is a banger too.
Sleepy Hallow has a simple formula that he never deviates from because it works. Sample a popular yet catchy song and rap. Sleepy explores the root of anxiety and self destructive coping mechanisms over two minutes and 23 seconds.
I never thought I would hear Drake spitting over a Conductor Williams beat. It seems like he put some real effort into this track and the gospel singing in the background is majestic. This actually gave me some hope that the album would be good, but spoiler alert, it’s terrible. At least we got one good song out of the October’s Very Own.
Until next time…
