We’re knee-deep in Cancer Season, a handful of planets are in retrograde, the sun seems to be actually working properly in LA, and Grimace’s birthday celebration has come to an end.
I tried the Grimace shake a few weeks ago. Walked up to the counter and asked the cashier what does it taste like. She looked at me with confusion and confessed she never tried so she didn’t know. I mean she barely spoke English on top of it. Another cashier came over and simply said it tasted like berry.
Of course I wanted some elaboration. Did this taste like blueberry, wildberry, blackberries, goji berries, etc.? This order was becoming an ordeal so I decided to leave my curiosity for knowledge unsatiated. I got my shake and it looked good, felt special, and glowed with an ethereal radiance.
I waited until I walked home to sip it and it tasted good. How would I describe it? Maybe a refreshing combination of grape and blueberry and some mystery flavor thrown into the mix.
If you’ve scrolled through the endless feed on Tiktok, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the dark Grimace shake memes spreading like a wildfire. Most of them are short, chilling, and weird. My type of party. Allegedly, they play off the old lore of Grimace and drinking part of his literal body when you consume one of these shakes. It’s also cool seeing the youth’s creativity on display.
Happy birthday Grimace!
Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk seem to be going head to head over the last few weeks. Dana White wants to put on a fight between the two tech giants. Interesting since Zuckerberg has been training in jiu jitsu and even competing publicly.
Things have heated up even more with Zuckerberg unveiling a twitter knockoff/extension of Instagram known as Threads. I was hesitant about joining another social media app, but I need to promote myself and you never know what opportunities are waiting out there. Plus, twitter has been getting on nerves especially with the tweet rate limits that were imposed for 24 hours.
I was surprised to discover that Threads is pretty fun so far, but most social media apps start out this way until algorithms and ads get thrown into the mix. It has a clean look and I haven’t seen any real fuckery so far. Should I soar into Bluesky Social and/or Spill? I don’t know, we’ll see what happens.

I’m still getting settled into my new place and trying to figure out my new routine. Some good news came through and shook some things up this is an interesting month all around. I’m pouring energy into two projects right now. The prologue for Project Holy Water is almost done and Project Bunny Bloodbath is coming along nicely. For the new subscribers, these are codenames for books I’m currently working on. Keeps the energy pure and the sense of mystery alive and well.
Currently Watching: Love, Death & Robots Season 3 & Lost Season 1 & The Idol Season 1
I finished watching I’m a Virgo and The Idol, both of which I loved dearly. The Idol is a bold look at the seedy abusive nature of Hollywood and the cost of stardom with beautiful cinematography. On the other hand, I’m a Virgo is weird exploration of the evils of capitalism with a giant black kid going discovering the adult world and its ugly truths.
I also got around to watching Babylon (2022) and loved it. It’s a raunchy ad yet beautiful look at the early days of Hollywood and the fleeting nature of fame. Well worth the 3 hour watch time.
Currently Reading: Blame! by Tsutomu Nihei & Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell & Full Throttle by Joe Hill & Cosmic Horror Monthly #2
The Train Derails in Boston by Jessica McHugh is probably one of the best erotic haunted house novels I’ve read in my life. This has an old school flair with characters you actually care about, tons of ghost sex, and a climax that hits you like a freight train. I’m still thinking about this ending how well McHugh executed it leaves my mind boggled.

Sauce Walka really shines on soulful beats i.e. his Ghetto Ghospel albums, but something about his verse on “Dangerous Daringer” feels utterly perfect. He connects with NY lyricist Conway the Machine who glides over the beat.
After being ousted as a snitch, Gunna knew what he had to do—get in the studio and make a banger album. “fuckumean” is an undeniable hit with an infectious hit and a dope trap beat. Throw in some T&A on a yacht and some colorful visuals, and Gunna has risen above the controversy.
“I gave a stripper the best of me, I gave a good hoe what’s left of me/she wish she had the lean recipe, crash out in Soho, I wakeup in Beverly…”
When I played this track walking to work, the bass kicked in and Lucki’s geeked up raps felt divine in my ears. He sets a toxic tone for the album with brutal honesty about his personal quirks and an urge to steal your chain brimming underneath the surface.
I like seeing rappers mature and get honest about the slow physical deterioration of their bodies. The OG reminsces about how far his has come and the staggering differences between his poverty-ridden past and the luxuries of his current life. The beat is grim and sucks you into this narrative dark hole.
Until next time…
