I’m finally moved into my new place and I’m getting settled in. [Redacted] is a vibrant part of LA and I’m happy to be here.
First order of business…
Melancholy’s Finest (Book 1 of the Motorpapi Chronicles) is live on Amazon.
“Grant Wamack brings a fresh, electric voice to the cyberpunk genre. Vivid, propulsive, and innovative...The next era of science fiction will be built on top of Melancholy's Finest"- Kelby Losack, author of Mercy.
WELCOME TO NEW FLORIDA, the land of hover whips, luxury cybernetic surgery, and Motorpapi. Never mind the incurable plankton virus or the monarchy's procreation propaganda, life in New Florida is about designer drip, romance, and the freedom of a motorcycle ride beyond the neon city.
It's a place where you don't need to follow your heart because you can control it with the turn of a dial. Just don't get lost in the S.W.A.M.P. In Melancholy's Finest, a simulation slave, a toxic throuple, and a suave leather-clad mercenary collide at an intersection of deceit, lust, and the aching desire to feel human and free.
From the mind of Wonderland Award-nominated author Grant Wamack (God's Leftovers, Black Gypsies), this pulpy and sexy lo-fi cyberpunk thrill ride HITS DIFFERENT.

Fantastic review from one of my favorite readers so I know it’s a banger. I plan to drop one of these books every summer. A Wamack book series is wild to conceive of and I’m the one writing the books. Of course, I have some horror books dropping next year too…
Somehow I managed to pump out 1k words on a cyberpunk short story set in the Motorpapi Chronicles universe. It feels good and natural writing in my new pad so this is a good sign that many words will be pumped out here.
Ty Dolla Sign slides into house music territory with the feel good single “Motion.” Simple bare bones lyrics and people dancing in the club is a formula that equals major success here. Ty Dolla can do no wrong…
Earl Sweatshirt’s evolution throughout the years is something special. On the surface, this is just another I get money flex, but it’s done so well. Marvel references, Diddy references, slick delivery and cadences over a woozy yet infectious beat. I need an entire album of this.
Maxo Kream & Bfb Da Packman are one of the most unlikely duos, but they managed to craft one of my favorite songs this year. The Fatt Blacc Twins embrace their fat guts and swing their weight all over this trap beat. They rap about who’s sexier, various criminal activities, guns shooting like semi colon and all of this takes place at a chinese food joint. The authenticity really shines here.
In the age of subs and feigned friendliness between competition, it’s refreshing to see two of rap’s veteran’s dissing each other in 2023. Pusha T dissed Jim Jones on a song played at Pharell’s Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2024 Fashion show. Capo takes it to the streets and sends some solid jabs at King Push over his own beat. I’m excited to see how this pans out.
Until next time…

Ahhhhhhhhhh, yeah. Didn't I read a beta copy of this? Or part of? Or did you post part of it somewhere (a few years back)?
