This week was busy and jam-packed with writing. Turned in the final edits for The Hum of the World & Other Stories coming much sooner than you think. Late April/May is a rough timeframe. So I’m getting prepared for that imminent drop.
I gave Melancholy’s Finest an intense yet successful surgical lift via a mini-writing marathon. I was out here clacking away on my keys, listening to Lil Yachty psychedelic album slowed and reverb. A surprisingly perfect music bed for a number of scenes I worked on.
I’m pleased with both of these books and I’m excited for them to drop. I used to be an artist in my younger years, painting and drawing in a frenzy, but I’ve grown to appreciate texture in writing and that’s something I care a lot about in my own fiction. I think it’s similar to vibes, but a kind of how Jordan Harpers aims for a sustained dream in his narratives.
I’m thinking that feeling you get when you see the heavy shadows in Mike Mignola’s drawings or the kinetic energy dripping off Ashley Wood’s linework.
Look at that lovely cross-hatching, loose shading, you can almost feel the weight of the pencil scribbling on the page.

Ryan Jackson invited me onto the Mutual Aberration Society podcast to talk about the TV show Swarm. You can listen to the episode here.
I’ve been so busy with other writing projects I haven’t had time to clean up pt. 2 of the LV Diaries, but that’s coming sooner than you think.
I’m itching to show y’all the cover of Melancholy’s Finest, but it’s not the right time quite yet. Closer we get to summer territory, I’ll unveil it here. The marketing gods say I need to focus my energy on promoting The Hum of the Worlds & Other Stories first and foremost.
I did get a badass blurb for the collection and I have three more in the tuck.
“The Hum of the World dazzles and disorients the reader with Wamack’s evocative visions of deeply unsettling worlds. This collection distills a surreal, horrific, and oddly beautiful universe into a frenetic and unforgettable set of stories”—Tiffany Morris author of Elegies of Rotting Stars
My publisher gave me the green light to show you a behind the scenes look at the table of contents for my collection. This is a book formatting screenshot in case you were wondering about paragraph signs. Check it out below.
Currently Watching: Love, Death & Robots Season 3 & Lost Season 1 & Yellowjackets Season 2
I’m in the midst of doing a John Wick marathon since I only saw the first movie (just watched chapter 2 last night) and I want to see 4 in theaters. The choreography is amazing. Whoever the grappling consultant they hired is top notch. Common’s armbar attempt, John Wick’s leg triangle followed by a gunshot to a goon’s head. Magnificent.

Killah Priest has been quietly dropping amazing music for the last five years and “China Ants” is no exception. The storytelling here is top-notch, following the life of an ant. Shoutout to Priest’s superb pen game because this one made me emotional at the end.
Luh Tyler’s on a helluva run and Babytron is firing off on all cylinders. It makes sense that these two would combine forces like Goku and Vegeta, becoming the rap equivalent of Gogeta on “Fat Racks Pt. 2.”
It’s always weird seeing a rapper turn gangster, relgious, and then return to his gangster roots again, but it works for Troy Ave. It seems like Taxstone tried writing a letter to judge to slander Ave’s name, but Troy won the case. Ever since then, he’s been dropping diss records to the jailed podcaster in a passionate flurry akin to 50 Cent. I’m here for it.
I’ve always respected Rory’s musical taste and it makes sense that he’s stepping into this DJ Khaledesque role of music curator on this single. I have no idea how he got Jay Electronica to spit a verse, but I am thankful to the gods. Plus, this cinematography is something to behold.
Until next time…
So excited for your book releases!! BIG things are already here for you!!
