The metaverse seems to be collapsing, more drama has erupted in the horror community, my favorite e-girl Joyce Carol Oates is wondering where all the rockstar male novelists went (I’m right here babe), and this eclipse has been beating my ass. But I’ve surrendered to the process and I’m staying out the way. I know good things are in store for me and the planets are doing the damn thing.
Mercury retrograde is a time meant for reviewing, revising, reevaluating, and revisiting plans, ideas, concepts, etc. I had a new scene come into my head for Project Bullet Baby, which will help me flesh out an ambiguous aspect in the narrative so I’m thankful for that.
So The Hum of the World & Other Stories hit #3 in the black horror fiction category on Amazon, and the streets say I am HIM. I’m sending lots of love to everyone who bought a copy and helped boost my baby up the charts. I dropped back down to the 20s/30s, but I’m pleased I’m doing these types of numbers. Highest I’ve ever been in any sort of Amazon category.
Killer review from
over at Goodreads. Here’s a fun mood board that touches on some of the themes and vibes you’ll find in the collection.
Sean Thompson interviewed me a couple of weeks ago for Nictitating Presents. I talk about my history as a writer, tarot, bjj, paranormal experiences, etc.
I’ve been working on the LV Diaries, talked to a mystery cover artist for Project Bullet Baby, and figured out some rough dates for the release through Broken River Books. I plan to reveal the cover art for Melancholy’s Finest sometime next month. Probably when we exit the onslaught of Mercury Retrograde.
Ryan Jackson invited me back onto season 2 of the Mutual Aberration Society podcast to talk about 108: Revenge And Adventure of Goro Kaiba. This is probably one of the most outrageous, sexual, bizarre, and funny movies I’ve ever seen in my life. Plus, it’s hard to find. You can listen here.
Ole boy finds out his wife is cheating on him with a young avante-garde dancer named Dr. Snake. To get revenge, he decides to sleep with 108 women to get revenge (the same number of likes she received on her facebook post). If this was an american movie, it would probably be done in poor taste, but this is a surprisingly progressive flick for 2019 and the ending hits you in the gut. Highly recommended.
Currently Watching: Love, Death & Robots Season 3 & Lost Season 1 & Yellowjackets Season 2
I watched Kill Her Goats earlier this week on a whim and it was a lot of fun. It’s a B horror movie, but it leans into the bad acting, chainsaws with sparklers, and historic backstory. It has lots of blood, boobs, and gore. What more do you need?

Rowdy Rebel’s consistency since he got out of jail is something to behold. His boy Bobby Shmurda should take notes. This shit got me hype.
“Goodbye momma, I gotta chase these bands…”
Teezo Touchdown makes such catchy yet relatable pop rock music with a dash of nostalgia. He’s shooting music videos to make ends meet, arguing with his dad constantly and waiting for his moment to shine. This was back in 2018 and I can’t wait to see Teezo pop off on a large scale.
“I cut these beats with my eyes closed/harness my chi like a maestro…”
The ancestors are guiding Chester Watson’s pen in “eyes closed.” There’s a psychedelic feel to the visuals, a saturated filter, and bat ears. Watson is otherworldly in both his appearance and his rapping abilities.
Green flame, snakes in the background, a hand full of money, and Slimesito rapping in the center of it all. This is the type of trap music I miss. Slimesito is bringing the feeling back. Real hiphop real hiphop….
Until next time…
