I’ve been looking at places in LA, scouting out new territory, and trying to figure out where my future lies. I managed to finish fixing up the dialogue in Melancholy’s Finest and I’ve been meditating a lot. I really need to get back on the horse when it comes to The LV Diaries. I feel like time has been getting away from me.
I’m still on a healing rampage. I don’t have too much to talk about this week, but if you’re interested in checking out what I’m into, look no further than one of my spiritual teachers Zinastar Mahadevi aka The Oracle. I’ve been taking her online classes for years and she’s the person responsible for my profound love and understanding of meditation (Let me know if y’all enjoy this spiritual content in the comments or feel like it’s too much).
I took a timeline jumping class where she explains how to jump timelines (go figure) and she guides you through a meditation where you meet your future self. Well worth the time and mula.
Another good friend of mine and reader of this newsletter put me onto spiritual game with Alberto Villoldo, a dope shaman and former clinical professor. I did his guided meditation where he guides you through the roots of the World Tree to be cleansed. I came out with a scorpion as my spiritual animal. Very powerful stuff and fun.
I stumbled across this girl’s youtube channel while I was high and this is one of the few times I commend the dreaded algorithm. I was somewhat confused and wondered if she was paid by a media company. I mean the shots are crisp, cinematic, and breath-taking. Even simple moments in her bedroom narrated by her are riveting. This creative romanticization of life touched me and I felt that spark of inspiration flowing.
One of my best friends and one of the best writers/podcasters/audiobook narrators I know has been struggling with some serious medical issues and needs our help. Consider contributing some money to his Gofundme here so he can get back on his feet. If it wasn’t for Kelby putting the battery in back and encouraging me to get back in the writing game a couple years ago, this blog most likely wouldn’t exist. Literary Loud would be literally quiet.
Rios De La Luz, another amazing Broken River Author, just dropped An Altar of Stories to Liminal Saints. She describes the collection as “a mixture of stories on motherhood & magic, there’s some horror & gore, and there are also stories of hope & tenderness.” You can cop it on Amazon or scoop up a signed copy directly from the author here.
Currently Watching: Love, Death & Robots Season 3 & Lost Season 1 & Yellowjackets Season 2
I watched John Wick Chapter 4 and man is this series untouchable. The fight choreography, the codes and ethical framework of this shadowy underworld, the consistency, and the sheer fun of this series has me in awe. I’m terribly sad we won’t get any more chapters, but a part of me wants to see a spin-off with other characters, but then again, I don’t want this to turn into the Marvel universe either.

King Yella has always been a subpar rapper, but something about working with Rooga and using FBG Duck’s flow that brings the best out of Big Clout. There’s been a lot of inhouse fighting amongst the GDs, but it’s good seeing too members coming together to put out a dope song.
I LOVE Spain and it looks like a new artist is emerging from the countryside. Bb tricks has been compared to Ice Spice, but I feel like this minimizes her talent. “Tu Nightmare” creates a dark atmosphere even though we see tricks whisper rapping during her 23rd birthday.
One of Kanye’s musical sons KayCyy seems to have found his creative pocket and it works. Aligning forces with Gesaffelstein, KayCyy floats over “Timeless” while surrounded by a supernatural like presence of the paparazzi.
There’s something in Florida’s water because this is the hardest Luh Tyler song I’ve heard it my life. The young jit has switched up his smooth flow and seems to growing more confident by the day. I can’t wait to see where this kid will be at a few years from now.
Until next time…
Jumping timelines... Over a decade ago, I had a story idea that was just too bleak for me to write. A serial killer is on the loose, and suicide is on the rise, a cop loses his son to the murderer only to discover that the serial killer believes that ritual murder and suicide are actually ways to leap timelines into alternate lives...
I always mean to say this but I think it's dope that you're listening to the Black Tapes podcast. I devoured every episode of that series as they were putting them out, and chased that dragon for a while afterward. I still think about it all the time, especially certain scenes. There still hasn't been anything quite like it, as far as I know.
