The Final Leg
Finishing up Project Scarecrow Gaze, slinging books, footage from my reading, There is No Antimemetics Division review, writing updates, and more.
I’ve been keeping my head low, getting some sunlight, and I’ve been laser-focused on finishing Project Scarecrow Gaze. Every book is a puzzle, a new challenge that pushes me into new territory.
Some hints about the new book: folk horror, scarecrows, cryptids, and gore.
A lot of research, a lot of floating ideas, and a whole lotta excitement.
Slinging Books
I had the honor of slinging books at the Inaugural Psyches of Color Mental Wellness Day. This is my first time selling books solo. I’ve always done it in groups so it was a cool experience that helped me get my shit together for future events i.e. the book menu, a square reader, etc.

My Gut’s Talking Crazy
Recently, I read my leaky gut gang stalking paranoia body horror short story, “My Gut’s Talking Crazy” from the Tormented Flesh anthology at Village Well Books. Omar King, James Nulick, and Francesca Lia Block did individual readings as well. It was a great time and fun hearing the crowd’s reaction. I definitely killed it.
You can watch my entire reading above.
The Servant Season 2
Just finished Season 4 of The Servant and loved it. A dark exploration of grief, motherhood, family, a religious cult, the desire for autonomy, and more. I loved the writing and Leanne’s transformation.
There is No Antimemetics Division
I've been raving about this book almost every day. It's wildly original, bold cosmic horror tinged with dark sci-fi. I think the average writer equipped with this concept would have written something good, but not as great as what qntm has produced. The disjointed narrative keeps the reader on uneven ground, and he has this ability where he holds your hand and leads you into a false sense of safety, only to pull the rug from beneath your feet. One of the best books I've read this year if not an all-time new favorite.
Writing Updates
I’m in the final leg of writing Project Scarecrow Gaze. Reading There is No Antimemetic Division helped unlock some creative insights for me that’s helping up the ante in my book. This is an exciting, nerve-wracking, and intense time. Such a creative high and it’s all downhill from here.
Also, I received a cool short story acceptance that I’ll announce when I get the green light.
Don’t forget to check out the latest short story I posted down below with aliens and such. Never before published so this is some exclusive type shit.
The Blackwater Sighting [Fiction]
My dad used to work for the Italian Center for UFO studies back in the 60s, back when we lived overseas. He retired when I was a pre-teen, a couple years before we moved to Jacksonville, Florida and he started spending a lot more time with the family. Smoking weed, reading books, and camping. He never talked too much about his job or what he had experie…

There’s something exciting about the return of Clipse. Real lyricism, biting bars, scathing animosity, and an authenticity that’s hard to imitate. I love seeing the elder statesman keep the integrity of rap intact.
I’m not as tune as I used to be when it comes to newer artists, but when I saw JPEGMAFIA mention Matt Proxy being heavily influenced by him, I knew I had to check him out. Proxy is experimental, vulnerable, and super talented. Can’t wait to see what he does next.
untiljapan isn’t the best rapper, but he brings the perfect vibes to the woozy production of “PYRAMIDS.” Glad to see the underground is still brimming with talent and pushing new sounds.
Until next time…
