These Beautiful Flowers of Mine
Art by Yuji Tezuka
I’m so happy we’ve made it to March. Pisces season continues to be an endless reservoir of creative energy for me. I’m riding this high for as long as I possibly can.
First order of business…I’m dropping part one of a serialized fashion novella here next week called The Louis Vuitton Diaries. This will be the art for the series. Pt. 1 will be free and the rest of the installments released every other week will be exclusively for paid subscribers.
This is partially inspired by my love for fashion, but also my Broken River brothers in arms Kelby and David writing their own serialized books. Subscribe to the Agitator patreon if you’re curious about Ronin Trash and Samurai Jesus. It’s high quality serialized cyberpunk fiction from two of the best writers working today.
You might be thinking Grant how do you have time for this? What about the cyberpunk book and the other projects you have cooking up?
Listen, when the muse comes knocking on my door dressed in red lingerie, who am I to say no? Project Melancholy is still on track along with the other projects.

Day one readers of Literary Loud will know how much I love the Backrooms series and all of the spin-offs on youtube. A24 is bringing a full-length feature to the big screen and I’m hyped. A24 has a spectacular batting average in my book minus Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. That one was so disappointing and bland.
The President of Mexico tweeted out “proof” of Mayan elves recently and I support this 100 percent.

Y’all already know I believe in cryptids, forest spirits, sprites, fairies, etc. I’m not quite sure about this photo, but let’s just roll with it. He is el presidente after all.
Also, make sure you check out Sarah Rose Etter’s post detailing her experience at the haunted Chateau Marmont. One of my favorite Pisces and a great writer, this is a must read.
I’ve secretly been feeling iffy about Project Melancholy, but I finally hit my stride and the vibes seem to be in order. It took a while, but I’m feeling good about the tone and it has a distinctly different feel than my other books. This is important to me, I don’t want y’all reading formulaic bullshit. We got plenty flavor on this side….
Edits on Project Hum have been going crazy. I’m injecting these dark stories with steroids and elegance. I’m excited for this to drop this spring, but good things take time.
Currently Watching: Moon Knight & Love, Death & Robots Season 3 & The Last of Us Season 1 & You Season 4
I finished Ozark Season 4 and I loved it. On the other hand, You Season 4 gave me a literal headache after two episodes. I’m throwing in the towel. It’s terrible. Who thought it was a good idea to drop Joe in a whodunit? I’m getting pissed off just thinking about how boring this season is.
Currently Reading: God Damn Chainsaw Murderer by Sean M. Thompson & Blame! by Tsutomu Nihei & Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes & Gleipnir by Sun Takeda
I read Along the Path of Torment by Chandler Morrison earlier this week and I loved it. I’ve heard good things about Morrison for years now and this book did not disappoint. It depicts a calorie-obsessed narcissist in the entertainment industry who falls in love with a 14 year old while trying to protect her from his predatory uncle. It’s a dark fucked up book, but it’s well-written, peels back the dirty layers of Hollywood, and the main character’s sleazy moves make sense considering his repressed trauma. Highly recommended.

It’s been 13 years since Tony Yayo has posted a video to his youtube channel, but “Clown You When You’re Down” is a powerful return. It’s refreshing to hear 50 Cent’s lieutenant come back rejuvenated with this triumphant single. The Loyal mixtape is great.
The Staten Island spitta destroys Kendrick’s “Backstreet Freestyle” instrumental that somehow managed to grab the attention of Drake. Lou from Paradise is in rare form and even fits in an adrenochrome bar. I need an album yesterday.
The Dallas stepper BigXthaPlug drops an inspiring single infused with pain and strife, but rises above it all. He explores the Big Apple, symbolizing he’s “made it” while the shadow of his past still haunts him.
“I set my watch back cuz sometimes it’s just gonna take some time…”
The Sade sample, the bouncy production, and sporadic delivery are magnificent on “Inside.” We get to see the softer side of Tony Shnnow as he pours his heart to some girl who did him dirty, but some good weed and cathartic raps will help him get over that hump.
Until next time…
